Academy of Media Arts Celebrates Launch of Innovative New School Preparing Fellows for Future of Work

LOS ANGELES–(COMMERCIAL THREAD) –Save this date: On June 12, 2019, the Academy of Media Arts (AMA) will celebrate the launch of its innovative school which is Preparing academics for the future of work through media arts. Rios Clementi Hale Studios (RCH) will host the launch celebration at their studios located at 3101 Exposition Place, Los Angeles, CA 90018.

We invite you to be part of the celebration of the creative and enterprising young students of the Baldwin Village / Crenshaw community of Los Angeles who join the founding AMA family. AMA’s catalyst for success is the result of a twelve-year new media arts program offered by Choice Group, Inc. (CGI) founded by creative entrepreneur Dana Hammond. Dr. Hammond’s vision is driven by the idea that academics are not simply consumers of technology, but rather creators of it. AMA is a new hub for progressive and empowered creatives armed with 21st century skills such as critical thinking and collaboration. AMA prepares academics for the future of work through its media arts and career streams focused on 3D modeling, animation, computer science, and music production.

What future for work? Driverless cars, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and the 5G internet are here. Academics who attend AMA acquire a digital skill taught by industry professionals so that they can compete in the digital world. The Academy of Media Arts focuses on career development and academic achievement, mixed with creativity.

AMA’s support comes from various industry leaders such as Chairman Herb Wesson, Grammy Award-winning artist Mary Mary, the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and Rios Clementi Hale Studios.

On January 8, 2019, the Unified School District of Los Angeles unanimously approved the Academy of Media Arts (AMA) to serve the Baldwin Village / Crenshaw community of Los Angeles. AMA is committed to creating an environment that merges science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) into a cultural bridge for new media arts and related career opportunities in the digital age. .

AMA’s partnership with leading Los Angeles architectural firm, RCH Studios, provides AMA Fellows with job shadowing opportunities aligned with AMA’s professional technical education model. RCH Studios designed the school campus prototype and is committed to being a partner of the Crenshaw community.

AMA academics and parents will have the opportunity to participate in virtual and augmented reality exhibits while meeting industry leaders, community actors and embracing this new community of innovative thinkers who are shaping the academics in the future of work.
